Terms of use

1. Who we are

RVT Convert (rvtconvert.com) is run by Fortress Associates Ltd, London, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14576806), registered office 202 Mayfly Close, London E3 3ZG ("we", "us"). Contact: support@rvtconvert.com.

2. The service

RVT Convert saves Revit 2024, 2025, 2026 and 2027 files (projects, families, project templates and family templates) as Revit 2023 files, using our own proprietary, multi-stage conversion process. The service is free to use and is supported by voluntary donations. No account is needed.

3. Your files

• Only upload files you own or have permission to convert.
• You keep every right in your files and in the converted results. We claim none.
• You allow us to process each file only to convert it and to keep the result for 24 hours so you can download it. Our privacy policy explains how files are handled and when they are deleted, in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
• We treat your files as confidential.

4. Fair use

You must not:

• upload anything unlawful, harmful or malicious, or files you have no right to use;
• use bots, scripts or other automated means to access the service, or try to get around its limits or security;
• disrupt or overload the service, or test its security without our written permission;
• use the service, or anything it produces, to study, reproduce, reverse engineer or recreate our conversion process, or to build a competing product or service;
• resell the service, or offer it to others as part of your own service, without our written agreement.

We may apply fair-use limits, and may block access that breaks these terms.

5. Checking your results

Saving a model to an earlier Revit release is complex. We work hard to carry everything across, but some features introduced after Revit 2023 have no equivalent in it and may be simplified or left out. Always check a converted file before you rely on it, and keep your original file: RVT Convert is not a backup or storage service.

6. Availability

We provide the service as and when it is available. We may change, pause or withdraw any part of it at any time, and we do not promise that it will always be available or error-free.

7. Our rights

The website, its design and content, the RVT Convert name, and the software and conversion process behind the service belong to us. Using the service does not give you any rights in them.

8. Trademarks

Autodesk and Revit are registered trademarks of Autodesk, Inc. RVT Convert is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Autodesk.

9. No warranty

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is", without any promise or warranty, express or implied, including about quality, fitness for a particular purpose or results.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.

Otherwise, we are not liable for any loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, goodwill or data, for project delays, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for anything connected with the service is limited to £100.

If you use RVT Convert as a consumer rather than for business, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.

11. Donations

Donations are voluntary and buy no goods or services. They are processed by Stripe and are not refundable, except where the law requires.

12. Business use

If you use RVT Convert for your organisation, our Data Processing Addendum forms part of these terms. We are also happy to discuss a non-disclosure agreement.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version, which applies from the moment it is published.

14. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
