Revit build numbers: every update from 2022 to 2027
A build number tells you exactly which update of a Revit release is installed, or which update last saved a file. Every Revit 2022 to 2027 update is listed below, from Autodesk's own table, with a lookup for any build.
Look up a build
Type a build number from Help > About, or a build version from Control Panel.
Want the build of a file instead? Drop it into the free Revit version checker: it shows the build that last saved the file and names the update.
To find your Revit build number, open Help > About in Revit: the build number is in the upper right corner of the About window. Windows Control Panel lists the build version instead. Both point to the same update in the tables below.
How do you find a Revit build number?
- Installed Revit: Help > About shows the build number, a date stamp such as
20250908_1515. - Windows Control Panel: Programs and Features lists the build version, such as
26.3.0.37. - A Revit file: each project, family and template records the build that last saved it. The version checker reads it without opening the file.
The same build number can belong to two releases: 20241107_1515 is both Revit 2023.1.6 and Revit 2022.1.8. Always read a build number together with its release year.
Latest updates listed: Revit 2027.3, 2026.5, 2025.5, 2024.3.6, 2023.1.9 and 2022.1.8.
Need the list in a spreadsheet or a script? Download all builds as CSV (release, update, build number, build version).

Frequently asked questions
How do I find my Revit build number?
In Revit, open Help > About. The build number is in the upper right corner of the About window. Windows Control Panel lists the build version instead, for example 26.3.0.37.
What is the difference between the build number and the build version?
The build number is the date stamp shown in Help > About, for example 20250908_1515. The build version is the number Windows Control Panel lists, for example 26.3.0.37. Both identify the same update, here Revit 2026.3.
Which Revit update saved my file?
Drop the file into the free Revit version checker. It reads the build stored in the file and names the update when the build is one in Autodesk's list.
Can two Revit releases share a build number?
Yes. 20241107_1515 is the build number of both Revit 2023.1.6 and Revit 2022.1.8, so always read a build number together with its release year.
Got a file from a newer Revit?
Updates within one release open each other's files, but a file saved in a later release does not open in an earlier one. To get a Revit 2024 to 2027 file into an older release, save it to an older version by converting it to Revit 2023, which opens in every release from 2023 to 2027.
